Thanks to everyone that showed up for the end of the year celebration. It was a fun time and a true example of engagement and unity! 

I was invited and attended the Building Services end of the year celebrations. The department had the events on each shift. Days, afternoons, and midnights (I attended them all)! It gave me the opportunity to connect with members in the masses! If your department has an event, please let me know, I am always excited about meeting with my members!

I attended a NEO conference where we learned in detail about the need to speak with members on day one or at least the first week of their employment. 

I will be forming a committee and appointing ambassadors very soon to help with this tremendous effort. I know that I have mentioned this many times but the more members (true union membership) that we have the more power we have! There is strength in numbers, and it is vital for a lucrative contract. Let’s work together and not apart to grow our union thus, becoming a united force here at the University of Michigan!

Do you know that being a dues paying member in good standing means that you can hold any office in the union? You can also be a member of the bargaining team, vote on the contract, attend union meetings, and enjoy union events. 

I am currently doing weekly site visits at Michigan Medicine. If you would like to meet me in the cafeteria for a conversation, please do not hesitate to reach out to me with any questions that you may have.
